The following are the minimum tests you should complete to confirm your configuration is working. Depending on the extent of your Interaction Mappings and customizations, additional testing may be needed.

Create a New Contact Using an Interaction

  1. Click on the Global Actions dropdown and select ‘New Interaction’
  2. Fill out any fields you want to test, making sure to enter values in the fields required for your matching rules, and Save the record
  3. A confirmation message should appear to show the record was created, with the record name appearing as a green link. Click on this link to open the Interaction record.
  4. Confirm the Interaction Status is ‘Imported,’ all expected values appear in the fields you filled out, and there is a link to the created Contact in the bottom left of the record
  5. Click on the linked Contact and confirm that all expected fields are filled out there as well

Caution Icon Note: If the “Interaction Status” is not ‘Imported,’ confirm all required fields on the records you plan to create are filled out. If any values are missing on the Interaction record, confirm the Global Action is configured correctly. If any values are missing on the Contact, confirm there are Interaction Mapping records for the missing fields. If any fields are missing from the Interaction or Contact, confirm the Page Layouts are correct.
