VoiceMeeter Amateur Radio Yaesu FT-991a Digital Modes Transmit and receive

In this diagram, let's describe an FT-8 configuration.

  1. The audio from the radio enters the computer via the RX Radio bus
  2. The RX Radio bus is connected to the B2 bus, which is a auxiliary audio sink that I defined for Radio apps, in order to segregate general windows sounds and amateur radio processing audio.
  3. The B2 bus is bounded to the VM RX Radio B2 sound card - which is selected as a "Input" interface in the FT8 software - and then it processes the audio.
  4. When the software transmits data, it is done via the VM TX Radio virtual sound card configured in the FT8 software. This virtual sound card is connected to the TX to Radio bus.
  5. The TX to Radio bus is connected to the A2 bus - which in turn is connected to the FT-991A's Input audio
  6. And the radio happily transmits whatever is played at bus A2.
  7. Simultaneously, while doing FT-8, I can also watch some video in Youtube, which comes from the VM Audio Apps virtual interface, that ends on Audio Apps bus.
  8. Audio Apps bus is connected to the A3 bus, which is the laptop built-in speaker
  9. And finally, while computer is TX/RXing FT-8, I can comfortably listen for my favourite Youtube video, without any interference or FT-8 noise.
  10. A last pro-tip, I will not want my microphone capturing my noise and outputing it FT-8 transmission - So the Mic Headset, while connected to the A2 Radio Transmit bus, is muted.
