Hi, it would be great to have fastp wrapped in moshpit since it “is 2–5 times faster than other FASTQ preprocessing tools such as Trimmomatic or Cutadapt”. It also has additional functionality for raw read processing and it is more suitable for metanalysis. Github Publication

should this go in moshpit? It sounds like this is perhaps a more general purpose tool (akin to cutadapt) and could go in its own plugin. That would make more sense if this is a plugin that might eventually go in multiple distributions. That might also be nice to isolate any possible dependency issues. Perhaps the authors would even be interested in creating a plugin to wrap fastp?
