Nice Job! |
I'll keep this in mind, but even if I will do that, I won't remove them all but I will leave the very important ones. I don't see it as a visual distortion, you cannot consider diacritics as a visual distractio, the full Arabic language includes diacritics in every word and even in every letter.
This is not the standard, it happens at this time because of the lack of words, knowledge and grammer among people. They don't know many words so the meanings don't usually conflict if we remove the diacritics. Now people just predict the meaning and it's easy because they have few words in their minds. The problems occurs for those who have recently learned to read (young people) because they don't know how to pronounce words correctly and who mstered the language may have a conflict because of their knowledge, they may be accustomed to reading the Qur'an, which contains all the diacritics. We are targeting all Arabic speakers in the world and all types of people of all ages at all times now and in the future. We must respect ower language, the way of writing you wrote is dry as if a robot or Google Translate had written it, it doesn't have grammer(สพIสฟrab) and diacritics. From my point of view, your way is to write quickly to someone close to you in WhatsApp for example, but we must use the full Arabic language here. |
You've already mentioned the whole point at the end of your comment. The more it's easier and faster to read (even for robots) the more it's comfortable to use in software. But every single time I'm reading your translated text with didactics I'll take 2x the time I would read it without! because it always takes my attention to check whether it's ู or ู Finally, when it comes to technology they classify arabic language to three types
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_Standard_Arabic I'm not claiming whehter it's the standard or not ๐ Finally the early arabic didn't even have diarictics or even dots on alphabets and they steel use it in an efficient way, So based on your claim "respecting our language" it means that they have ruined and disrespect it when they messed with it by adding dots and diarictics?! It's a need which changes from time to time and in technology it's not the most thing you would welcome as it adds more challenges in Fields like nlp! try to check the other Arabic localized apps, or maybe consider making two versions of it so it would be available in all forms classic and msa! It's your decision to keep or leave, and you've already done a great job! Have a nice day :) |
I liked this solution, but i think it needs some modification in the code, I will check how the localization works. ๐๐ป๐๐ป |
After I completed everything, i found that someone else created a pull request for the Arabic language, but it seems that he did not complete the translation and there were some mistakes in it and he don't known how to use the plural. ๐ Soooooo please use my pull request. ๐
In the Arabic language we have six plural formats, if it was not wrong from me ๐, the library does have some issues. I am using the same rule in this arabic Wiki but i found some problems for example from number 3 to 10 it uses the
other
value insted of the 3rd.In addition i arranged the languages lists alphabetically.
Finally i hope that you implement the RTL support and add some bdi tags or use some CSS where there is mixed direction text.
