Useful python scripts for archaeological grid layouts in the field.
Recommended Usage:
install Carnets on your smartphone
copy each of the scripts into a new file and save in carnets
run script in carnets
Tools:
hypotenuse.py
- calculates the hypotenuse (or missing side) of a triangle given two sides
- useful for building / triangulating grids in the field
middle13.py
- caclulates the middle unit along a diagonal hypotenuse of a complete or partial grid,
often referred to as 13's
- measure from outside edge to outside edge of units, not from stake to stake.
