I finally moved the danger variable adjustment into the color definitions and I set a default value for
--header-offset. A height of ten pixels should be acceptable as it would be changed to something more appropriate here.https://github.com/discourse/discourse/blob/ce7a14104b50c65a3fd40b88887d2f8a53d73ffa/app/assets/javascripts/discourse/app/components/glimmer-site-header.gjs#L118
At least I suspect.
Edit: At minimum it will restore the arrow to scroll.
