When you download the theme from GitHub and extract it, the default folder name will be aegis-1.0.0-alpha.1. Before installing, please rename this folder to aegis. Also, avoid using the original zipped file with WordPress' default theme installer to prevent any errors.

The Aegis version 1.0.0-alpha.1 has been officially released and is now available for download and evaluation. This release signifies a pivotal milestone in the project's development cycle. The Aegis FSE theme is presently in its development phase. It is highly advised against installing, running, or testing this on production or mission-critical websites. For a comprehensive evaluation of the theme's capabilities, it is recommended to have WooCommerce installed during testing. Evaluations of the Alpha version are best conducted on a dedicated test server and site, ensuring safety and efficient debugging throughout the development process.
