WIP: automatically mark each of the "CI" workflow jobs as "required". Comes with complexities around inconsistent jobs and names across different repositories.
Alternatively, we could explore other approaches, such as automatically triggering a workflow that reports on the overall outcome of the 'CI' workflow - we could then simply mark this 'meta' workflow as "required". But this comes with its own complexities (exporting the triggering commit sha from the CI workflow, passing it to the meta workflow, and then having the meta workflow use the GitHub API to create a status check associated with that sha).
