Link Contact with an Item

Custom Items can be linked with contacts. There are several ways how to do it.

1. Manually via UI

It can be done directly in the Contact Detail Page. Go to the contact that you want to link with a custom item. On the contact detail page you will see new tabs for each Custom Object. In the example bellow there is one Custom Object called Products and we can see that one Custom Item called Toaster is linked to this contact already.

Link a Custom Item

Search for its name in the search box. It will pop up options of existing custom items. Select the one you want and this action will link the selected Custom Item to the contact you are viewing now.

Unlink a Custom Item

If you want to unlink a Custom Item from the contact then there is option to do it in the context menu of the Custom Item row:

Create a New Custom Item

Notice that the tab has handy New button where you can create new Custom Item for the Product (in our case) Custom Object. It will not link the newly created Custom Item with the contact.
