Tasks Tracker

New for version 3.0, the Tasks Tracker is a tool for keeping track of your own personal in-game tasks. Tasks can include anything from daily crafting to gathering nodes, and include customization of icon, name, description, daily reset, and location. Tasks are stored in xml format and can be exported or loaded in order to share with others.

  • Task ToolTip: The tooltip of each task will display the following information, depending on how that task is configured:

    • Description Text - Displayed for player tasks that have a description
    • Zone Name - Displayed for location-based tasks, this is the name of the zone that the task is located in
  • Right-click Menu: Right-clicking on a task displays a menu with the following options:

    • Edit - Opens the Edit Task Dialog to edit all of the various settings for the player task. This dialog contains the same information as the Add New Task dialog
    • Delete - Deletes the player task
  • Main Menu: Clicking on the icon in the top left corner of the window opens a menu with the following options:

    • Add New Task - Opens the Add New Task Dialog to add a new player task to the list of tasks
    • Load... - Loads an xml file containing player tasks. This will replace your list with those loaded from the xml file.
    • Import... - Imports player tasks from an xml file. This will add loaded tasks to your list of player tasks.
    • Export... - Exports your list of player tasks to an xml file, which can then be shared with other players.
    • Sort By - Allows sorting of custom tasks by Name or by Distance
    • Distance Units - Allows selection of Feet vs Meters for distances
    • Delete All - Deletes all tasks from the list
    • Close - Closes the Tasks Tracker window

Add New Task Dialog

Tasks are added by selecting the "Add New Task" option in the main menu of the window. When selected, the Add New Task dialog is shown. This dialog allows customization of the following:

  • Task Icon: Clicking the Icon image in the top-left corner of the dialog will open a pop-up that allows you to select an icon for the task. Icons can be selected using an Item's Icon or a Custom Icon
    • Item Icon - With this option, you can select the icon of any in-game item. Just type the name of that item and it's icon will be set as the task's icon.
    • Custom Icon - With this option, you can enter any image URL to use as the icon for the item. This can be almost any static image on the internet. If you wanted, you could even set the PAO logo from the PAO website as the icon for a player task.
  • Name: The actual name of the player task
  • Description: A description of the task, which can contain anything and everything you want.
  • Completion Options: Player tasks can optionally be completable and reset daily
    • Can Complete - When selected, the player task will include a checkbox that can be used to mark the task as completed
    • Reset Daily - When selected, the player task's checkbox will automatically be reset on a daily basis at UTC midnight.
  • Location Options:
    • Include Location - If enabled, the player task will be location-based. When the player is in the same zone as that player task, an arrow indicating the direction and distance will be displayed next to the player task.
    • Refresh Location Button - When first opened, the Add New Task dialog will use the player's current in-game location. If you then move while the dialog is open and want to change the location of the player task, click the Refresh button.
    • Waypoint Code - You can enter a waypoint code with this textbox which can then be copy/pasted into the in-game chat. The Waypoint Code will be available in the right-click menu of the player task.
