About OpenGov Africa

OpenGov Africa is dedicated to enhancing transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement in governance across Africa. By leveraging open data, we empower citizens to monitor government activities, track financial expenditures, and document business affiliations of public officials. Our mission is to drive positive change and ensure good governance through the power of open data.

Repository Structure

The repository is organized into the following directories:

• logos/: Contains various versions of the OpenGov Africa logo.
• brand_guidelines/: Contains the brand guidelines document.
• templates/: Contains design templates for different platforms (social media, presentations, print materials).
• icons/: Contains a set of icons used in OpenGov Africa’s designs.
• color_palettes/: Contains the official color palettes used in OpenGov Africa’s branding.
• fonts/: Contains the fonts used in OpenGov Africa’s branding.
• mockups/: Contains mockups for various applications of the design assets.

Design Guidelines

To maintain a consistent and professional visual identity, please adhere to the following design guidelines:

Logos

• Use the correct logo version for the intended use (print, web, etc.).
• Maintain adequate clear space around the logo to ensure it stands out.
• Do not alter the logo in any way (e.g., changing colors, distorting proportions).

Colors

• Use the official color palette provided in the color_palettes/ directory.
• Ensure color contrast meets accessibility standards for readability.

Fonts

• Use the official fonts provided in the fonts/ directory.
• Maintain consistent font sizes and styles across different materials.

Templates

• Use the provided templates for consistency in social media posts, presentations, and print materials.
• Do not alter the templates beyond the designated editable areas.

Icons

• Use the icons provided in the icons/ directory.
• Ensure icons are used at appropriate sizes and resolutions.

How to Contribute

We welcome contributions from everyone. Here are the steps to contribute to this repository:
