File Format Descriptions

Files with an '.sga' extension. A Z-Lib compressed archive. We need to dump these before we can do anything else.

These files use many extensions. These files are dumped from the SGA.

An AIFF-C file, but using the relic compression format. I haven't looked at the binary of the Compression/Decompression library, so to convert the generated file to wav, the dll\decomp.exe must be run.

Chunky Format Descriptions:

A Warhammer model file. Contains several sub meshes to represent a single model. Contains other information.

A texture file. Contains the default texture for a model.

A texture file. Contains a desaturated default texture (the same texture found in RSH, but desaturated). And up to 6 'layer' textures.

Less of a fact, but Dirt (layer 5) 'should probably' always be present. It seems to act as a mask for the other layers.

Contains an audio file; AIFF-C compressed using Relic's personal lossy compression algorithm.

Format References

DXTn (DDS)

Direct Draw Surface; we use the DXT1, DXT3, DXT5.

Risky Link To Specification

Targa image container.

An old audio format from Apple, which supports decompression.
