« Cat Food Safe » est un petit projet qui consiste à créer une gamelle (pour chat) électronique permettant le contrôle de la nourriture de votre compagnon. Le projet veut que les animaux de compagnie du foyer soient munis d'un collier avec un médaillon auquel une puce RFID sera intégrée. Chaque RFID est unique; un pour chaque animal. La gamelle électronique aura un couvercle sur rail qui se fermera et s'ouvrira grâce à un mécanisme qui sera déclenché par le micro-ordinateur de la gamelle. Ainsi, il sera possible de gérer le temps d'exposition de la nourriture d'un animal durant la journée si nous souhaitons contrôler sa diète; ou même de créer une « liste blanche » des animaux autorisés à accéder à la gamelle. De cette façon, seuls les animaux inscrits dans la liste blanche pourront manger la nourriture de cette gamelle, puisque celle-ci fermera son couvercle lorsqu'un chat non autorisé sera à proximité. Ce projet permettra donc d'empêcher un animal sous un régime particulier (problèmes de santé, etc.) de manger la nourriture des autres animaux du foyer (laquelle serait nocive pour lui). Notez que la gamelle sera équipée d'un mécanisme de sureté qui empêchera le couvercle de refermer sur votre précieux compagnon.
« Cat Food Safe » is a simple project that consists in creating an electronic bowl for pets which gives control over your animal's food. The project consists in making your pet(s) wear a collar to which an RFID chip will be attached. Every RFID is unique; one for each animal. The electronic bowl will have a lid on rails which will open and close through the mecanism that will be triggered by the bowl's microcomputer. Therefore, it will be possible to manage the food's exposition time during the day for your pet's diet; or even create a « white list » of the pets that can access the bowl. This way, only the pets from the list will be able to eat its food; otherwise it will close when an unauthorised animal is close. By doing this project, we can prevent an animal with a specific diet (due to health problems, etc.) from eating the other animals' food (which would be harmful). Note that the bowl will be equipped with a security mecanism that will prevent the lid from closing on your beloved companion.
