The Lore Series premiered on January 27, 2023, with the goal of showcasing MCreator and demonstrating its capabilities without needing Java coding. The series has been well-received within the MCreator community and still generates around 200 weekly views whenever a new video is published. The recording style is laid-back and focuses more on entertainment than education. With nearly 100 episodes, the series is approaching a significant milestone after almost two years of creation.
As the series progressed and more content was showcased, I began receiving questions about publishing the mod. Initially, I hadn’t planned on releasing it. However, after some consideration, I decided to publish the mod and officially made it open-source on January 1, 2024.
MCreator is a Minecraft mod-making program developed by Pylo, founded by Klemen and Matej. The software is open-source and free to use, and many STEM organizations utilize it to teach programming and math. While MCreator has faced criticism from the Minecraft community for being less effective at creating mods, many of these concerns have been addressed, with constant improvements made each year to increase flexibility for creating complex mods. Although the software generates code using elements and procedures, which may result in less compact code, it still achieves the same results as a hand-coded mod.
As the sole developer of the mod, I have limited time to update the wiki documentation. I try to add more pages in my spare time to explain how different features work, but there’s still a lot left to cover. My goal is to fully document the mod before its release, even though it’s a daunting task!
