@mattgorski please consider some of the DVB firmware binaries from LibreELEC (a fork of OpenELEC).

This adds a few of the Video4Linux DVB firmware from LibreELEC (fork of OpenELEC) embedded Linux distrobution to this image for Nvidia Shield TV to support more USB television tuners.

LibreELEC is a more active developed project which includes later code, however OpenELEC (which LibreELEC was forked from) have better documentation about this, see example:

DVB firmware:

Linux kernel:

These are open source Video4Linux DVB firmware to add support for a few more USB TV-tuners than was added before.

Sorry for the super late response. Let me take a look at some of the commits and see how much work is needed. What device in particular do you need support for?

@mattgorski None for me personally, as you have already added support for the USB tuners I myself own which is the Mygica T230 / Geniatech T230 (also same as August T210v2 ), thanks! :D So this is really only a general request to add all the DVB firmware and drivers from LibreELEC so others can enjoy this great feature too ;)

Again, good thing about that is that the LibreELEC project (and OpenELEC project) have already tested and confirmed that those firmware and drivers work. My suggestion is still to use LibreELEC as upstream for DVB firmware and drivers, as that way you do not really need to maintain or test the firmware/drivers yourself. My idea was to simply copy everything that the LibreELEC project have in their master repositories.

PS: I really went over my head trying to create this pull request myself. I should have left it as a suggestion. I just thought this was awesome and I wanted to share the awesomeness with other who have other USB tuners.
