About The Project

After seeing how low effort some online short-form content can be, I decided to make things worse by creating this program. With the click of a few buttons even you can now dilute the online space with even more pointless videos. Through automating the idea generation as well as narration and video, you have no excuse not to be mass-producing content online.

Getting Started

To get a local copy up and running follow these simple steps.

1. Get API Keys for OpenAI (paid), Reddit and ElevenLabs

2. Clone the repo

   git clone https://github.com/JamesBird02/youtube-short-generator.git

3. Install the required Python packages

   pip install -r requirements.txt

4. Enter your API keys and information in .env

    OPEN_AI_KEY = ""
    my_client_id=""
    my_client_secret= ""
    my_user_agent=""
    my_username=""
    my_password=""
    eleven_labs_key = ''
    subreddit = ''

5. Run in terminal

    python3 src/generator.py

6. See your saved video in generated!
