Upstream has asked in the past to not distribute pre-releases, which 3.1.8 ( currently ) is. However on the quite likely chance this is effectively a release candidate, I'm happy to take the patch and open a temporary channel for it for you to use it without having to sideload.

In the future I might reconsider the beta builds as there's probably enough users now to actually benefit from having them without the same risks as the past, but as the 3.1 release is imminent it's not likely to happen in the next few weeks. That would be a permanent release in the beta channel. For this specific build, I'll have a short preview build in the stable channel for you either in a few hours or tomorrow latest :)
