Mapping_Earthquakes with GeoJSON

Project Overview:

The objective of this project is to gather earthquake GeoJSON data from the USGS API, create and explore interactive maps of earthquakes around the world.

Project Challenge:

The reporters and data visualization team at the Disaster Reporting Network need an insightful and interactive visualization to illustrate the relationship between seismic activity and tectonic plates locations around the world.

To build this visualization, I will traverse and retrieve earthquake and seismic activity data using JavaScript, and the D3 and Leaflet libraries. The data will be plotted on a mapbox map.

This multi-layer and interactive map illustrates the relationship between the location and frequency of seismic activity and tectonic plates with addition of fault lines.

Project Summary:

The challenge called for three layers, but a fourth was added because I just think it looks cool!
