I found that my 4 core laptop used 2 cores and ended up not using swap storage, and stayed in the 8 gb ram

An 8 core laptop using 4 cores ended up using swap storage, 6.4 on ssd and 6.4 in ram.

So it's likely reducing cores as shown in the link above can help users with 8 gb ram to not use their hhd for swap if their old pc/laptop is using that.
