Welcome to the DoomlikeDungeons wiki!

What is Special and Different about Doomlike Dungeons?

First, there is the size some of the largest dungeons can be, big enough that you may not see the other side on default render distance. They can be as large as 13x13 chunk (wider than the default render distance), or 208x208 blocks (that's over 43k square blocks). While they aren't all gigantic, the biggest dungeons can have over 100 rooms. Of course, you could make them all huge, if you want...

Second is the theming system, which makes it very easy to create dungeon styles to fit what you want or work with your mod pack -- or simple customize the mobs that spawn. With themes, you can change the blocks, mobs, sizes, and architectural style of the dungeons, as well as where they appear. You can not only change any of the default themes to your liking, but even remove those you don't like or make more of your own, as many as you like.

Third there is the level of proceduralism, what some people call "random" generation, though there a lot is more to it than just randomly placing blocks or rooms. While many structure mods generate pre-built structures in your world, and several can generate structures from a bunch of pre-build parts (often called pre-fabs), Doomlike Dungeons not only puts rooms together to build a dungeon, but generates each room procedurally as well. The rooms may not be as interesting as those in other mods that use pre-fabs, but they are far more varied. When you find an unusual looking room with some strange architecture, you might be the only one to ever see that. Like Minecraft worlds themselves, these dungeons come in endless varieties and those you find in your world, with its seed, are unlike those from any other seed or location.
