Table settings popup appears then disappears instantly when dragging to select multiple cells

Dragging to select multiple cells in a table. If the selection changes right before i release the mouse, this bug happens.
This bug does not happen if i leave the mouse down for at least half a second on the same cell before releasing.
This is not an edge case as most people aren't sloths who leave their selection in place for more than half a second before finalising.
