Failed to unpack registry archive - New Install

Currently having the following error, trying to run :MasonUpdate on a brand-new install of mason.nvim

Attempting to install mason.nvim via Lazy.nvim with:

Given that I have all of the recommended requirements installed: git(1), curl(1) and wget(1), unzip(1), tar(1), gzip(1)

What am I doing wrong?

EDIT: setting log level to DEBUG or TRACE didn't help much, but I was able to determine that I'm hitting this error. Not sure why ".ZIP file comments not supported" would even occur, since this I'm just trying to use the default registry.

Finally figured it out. My ~/.curlrc had -w "\n" which appends a newline character to the end of every run. After deleting that file, mason.nvim now installs the registry without error.
