I see a big potential in Petite Vue. It could be a modern and very lightweight replacement for jQuery with syntax almost the same as Vue.js, encouraging progressive enhancement, ensuring good SEO, without a hassle with SSR or prerendering. Only in the week of 20-26.07 there were almost 10k downloads from npm, so it has some gain. @yyx990803 could you please continue to support it? |

I have the same question. I used alpinejs before but finally switched to petitle-vue and loves it so much, but I'm a little bit worry about its future since I don't see any new changes since the last month. |

In the exact situation, now my project has two "sprinkle" js libraries, alpine and petie-vue, I'm using alpine for any new pages added into the project until petite-view future is clear, I prefer 'mpa' over 'spa' and sprinkle type js is enough for mpa app. |

A question I can answer! He released this "early", it was a proof of concept for Evan. It's completely his intention to support it - just not yet. He is focusing on some features for Vue first. |

I can't really understand the need for Alpine or Vue Petite if standard Vue already has all the features already built in. Size cannot be a factor as these are all below 100Kb. With little effort (120 loc) I built my own version of Vue Petite. Used it for quite some while now. I've packaged the full Vue 2 experience into a small utility that can be useful for non-bundler projects, or for progressive enhancement in Evan's terms. Most simple example: <!DOCTYPE html>

Cool, but it looks like a clone of Petite Vue. What's the advantage of Vue Hydrate? As for Vue vs Petite Vue, the former is full-blown and does not provide progressive enhancement without prerendering or SSR. The latter fits elegantly if you want to sprinkle some interactions on a static HTML web page. |

I'm back to coding after six months absent! As a 'occasional' developer, I have programs developed many many years ago, and never update it until several years later, with those old languages and tools(delphi/java), I can easily back to the development mode and be productive again, with the new SPA tools like Angular/Vue, if I do not use it everyday and get back to the code half year later, I am a total newbie, I have to re-learn so many concepts before I can start coding, this usually take quite a while, longer than learning vue/angular as you have a whole project to review with your 'newly learned' knowledge and admire yourself for creative way of implementing this and that features that seems totally new now to yourself. with petie-vue, it took a very short time to 're-learn', maybe one day, and I'm back to development mode, start to update the program. that's the reason I like petie-vew or alphinejs, usually projects with petie-vue are MPA, backend is expressjs or java, which are easier to manage. that's my experience with petie-vue/alphine, of course for full stack developers you code everyday, you don't have issues like this, so a vuejs offers more features for you to utilize. |

@niutech, I think having the same API may be advantageous. Say one day you want to move your code to SPA then little has to be done - it all works the same. And more obvious Vue hydrate supports everything Vue does like transitions, components etc which Vue petite does not. I have used Vue hydrate in private capacity long ago - before Vue petite - and later published it to NPM to address the issue of just sprinkle interactivity on statically served pages. And it worked great as an alternative to JQuery and others. I'm somewhat surprised that we didn't see more usages of Vue template compiler being shipped to the browser to enable this. I guess alpine is great, definitely not original, but Vue already contained everything alpine has. |

Well.. if you just look at this repository: the dates of commit and the presence of developers on this discussion area — the project seems abandoned. Obviously vue/reactivity is not abandoned, but that's just dependency. |

I guess that it is maintained within the scope of what's described in https://github.com/vuejs/petite-vue#status. So that would mean:
I'm still investing in petite-vue vs Alpine because of the orientation of the project being progressive enhancement vs a replacement for jquery and a companion to SSR rendering framework like Livewire. To be fair, Alpine can do progressive enhancement just as well, but the bundle size is getting bloated these days. Plus, I like that the syntax will be kept as close as possible to Vue. |

The doc in vuejs.org mentions petite-vue as part of vue ecosystem, I do not see why petite-vue is not being maintained, it might not have frequent updates, but it does not have any major issues anyway: Vue also provides an alternative distribution called petite-vue that is specifically optimized for progressively enhancing existing HTML. It has a smaller feature set, but is extremely lightweight and uses an implementation that is more efficient in no-build-step scenarios. |

A couple of thoughts: some of the relevant code powering petite-vue is in @vue/reactivity so we know for sure that will continue to get attention. Also, I've skimmed through a lot of the code of petite-vue proper, and it's remarkably concise and straightforward (kudos to @yyx990803 et al.!). So even on the slim chance that year(s) from now nobody's updating this repo, I'm not too concerned about a community-maintained fork picking up the slack. I'm currently working on a library to embed petite-vue into custom elements for a nice marriage of web components with reactive HTML, so if need be I'm fine with building petite-vue and shipping it directly with the library. But obviously I'd prefer to see petite-vue continue to receive official updates and version bumps, even if just for a bug fix here and there. |

Interesting numbers: Petite-vue: AlpineJS: Petie-vue has almost no update in the year, but still works. However latest commit 11months vs 4 days really not encouraging for any new projects coming. |

I have the same concern if petite-vue has been abandoned. I planned to build a headless ui library on petite-vue, just like I've done for alpinejs, Vimesh Headless. Current petite-vue need more improvements for serious web application. Anyway, do not just stop it. |

I wrote a super minimal (2.3k gzipped) Vue/Petite-Vue alternative that is designed from ground up for server-side rendering and progressive enhancement. It's called Nue JS and it's a central part of a bigger ecosystem to ultimately replace many of the current/heavyweight/complex tools that cause frontend fatigue. Nue is under active development. |

I was pretty interested, but doesn't seem to be similar and not sure what the goal is of Nue. Also read "Yes, but it's only the Nue runtime which is 2.3KB, the compiler bundle is 36KB. Petite Vue includes everything in 7KB." Petite Vue is just magically when working with it. I think the docs of Nue need redoing to make it crystal clear what is going on. Maybe read the readme of Petite Vue for inspiration. |

Is Today I'm facing a problem in enterprise web apps that should be nice to have a light framework like this one, but it looks kind of dead, with the latest update more than one year and a half ago. I'm already a "full Vue.js" lover, but comparing For exemple, AlpineJS and Solid are up and running with active development and receiving recent updates. |

I've been using it absolutely fine for sometime now. Apart from missing the watch command, I haven't had much trouble porting most of my components across from the full framework. It also has a few benefits for me, inline templates (removed in Vue 3) is great for server-side rendering and the fact you can have multiple instances of v-scope (including nesting them) is essential for my application. The fact it hasn't been updated for sometime doesn't bother me as it's driven by @vue/reactivity and I've not encountered any bugs. |

I think petite-vue really relevant for the same use case you'd use JQuery or Alpine. The fact there is no "updates" seem to me because at this time it's feature complete and you can use it as is |

True, Solid.js doesn't provide progressive enhancement and it is not a good alternative for Petite Vue, I was just pointing out that it is theoretically possible to run Solid.js without a build step. |
