could add an ETA-like interface to the combat tab that uses the sim in the background

 as long as it only runs once when you start fighting that type of enemy, but even then, the sim isn't perfect (as shown by the need to manually increase ticks for longer fights) so unless you wanted to always do that..
I mean if something reasonable were made that works nicely, I'd absolutely use it.
Hell I'd even take a "press button to sim current loadout etc and display that until either I retreat or swap enemies/dungeons" method
Then no worry about catching when you start combat, or watching for when equipment changes, since I know I start combat before swapping loadout and prayers

the way I see it

  • a button "simulate current fight" or w/e, which then runs the sim to get xp rates.
  • the rates from the most recent simulation can then be used to show ETAs to target levels
  • once you change gear or level up or whatever, it shows a warning that your setup changed and you should resim to get accurate ETAs
for auto slayer it doesn't seem very useful, since it depends a ton on the tasks you roll, so I'd just go with current monster or dungeon
