Topic proposal: New community channel for JCB. Glip clearly isn't working and some have proposed telegram or signal i believe?) Let's open up some more channels and see if we can get some more engagement. In an ideal world i would love to see us be able to ask questions in real time to community members and other community members responding to them. |

JCB already has a group, and we can also add a channel which we can feed into the JCB component.... this will be smart. The group is https://t.me/jcb_group |

I'd personally vote for Telegram.
We've been using it for several months for various group and client
communications and it works well. We've found more of our clients are
already using Telegram, so easy to begin using.
Also, there could be a JCB 'channel' in Telegram for push
(no-discussion) announcements as well.

Thanks. I was not aware of that group. Just joined, but no activity
since March?
We'll have to start talking there to change that :-)

Yes we moved the group to Glip... at the time, I personally do not like Glip, but its the official Joomla IM channel. |

My availability has changed (surrounding the next JUG), seems like the 28th will be the next possible date... Wondering if you all have a JUG without me, and then another the 28th or in next month. Thought I will be ready but an issue has come-up and it requires my full attention. So the big news will have to move forward another month.... so sorry. |

If you guys are up for it we could do a JUG without Llewellyn on the 7th of october. Then it would be more of a Q&A session. A "Doctor Joomla" where we can help each other and share tips & tricks. |

Great JUG! just finished listening to it in high speed, and I think it was brilliant! Helps me see the community and helps all of you share your experiences. I do have a few points I would like to bump in response, and some I posted directly to the issues that where mentioned. What I think is that these meetings could serve very well as ha question harvester.... kinda 😃 Anyway, @duetnet the SQL updater will only create and update if the tables are effected, as was said. But when you export and import JCB-package we lose the history... as that is not exported. This is a known issues, (with no history, JCB does not know if things have changed, as JCB uses the history core table of Joomla to track these changes) and there is really now way around this as yet... since JCB does not export Joomla related database stuff, I mean core database stuff, like tags, categories, history, and asset table linked data. Since this will add another layer of complexity I just have not had the will yet to confront. |
