I've successfully set up the Twittnuker Push Server and my Android App is connected to it. However, I never receive any notifications when Twittnuker App is closed – yet when I open it, sent PMs pop up. I've not yet had any other messages e.g. Tweets directed at me to test this.

Could you clarify for what I should receive Push Notifications or if I'm misunderstanding what these are supposed to do?

Did you receive the success notification after setting up Twittnuker with your Push server?
What's the status in the push notification settings in Twittnuker?

You should receive notifications for the following events:

  • Mentions
  • Direct messages
  • Retweets of your tweets
  • Favorites of your tweets
  • New followers
  • Quotes of your tweets

Maybe you cant test the functionality with a second account or ask somenone on Twitter to do some of the actions mentioned above.

Thanks for looking into this! I did not receive any success notification, but the Twittnuker, in "Settings" -> "Notifications" shows "Status: Connected".

This is the Push Server: http://cmacht.alnilam.uberspace.de/nodejs/

I'll do some more testing, PMs that I have tested already do not work for me with this setup currently.

Hint: you can tap on the status, to unregister from your push server. It will try to reconnect after you close settings.

Can you take a look into the main.log file and post its here?
But make sure to remove the registration id from the log!

I tried the "tap status", unfortunately it seems to consistently "crash" the app: It quits out of the menu with the pop-up "Unfortunately, Twittnuker has stopped." This may just be an erroneous message.

I attached the main.log with ids & tokens removed. It might contain a lot of me trying to set up the server initially.
