Hi,
I am developing an opensource robotic active prosthetic hand: Rebelia
I'd like to use your sensor, do you have any plan to create a compact version with both electrode and control board sticked together?
At the moment I bought 2 DFROBOT-OYMOTION sensors and I hacked them: I removed the jack connector and I merged the 2 boards (one with the electrode and one with the logic and power) connecting wires and sealing the whole with glue and insulating tape.
The final hacked sensor is 35 mm x 23 mm 5 mm, I would like to have a version of uMyo with similar size.
I wish to use an open source hardware though, like yours.
Do you have any plans to create a compact version?
I wonder if you already are working on this, because I already have a lot of work due to the prosthetic hand project. In this case I would wait until it's done.
Anyway, if you don't have any plans to create a compact version, then I wish to contribute to your project to create this variant.
In this latter case how should I proceed if I want to contribute?
If you are interested I could do some MR to your repo to add the variant, or otherwise forking into mine and continue it there.
Please let me know, let's join the forces for a better open source world!

In fact yes, we not only plan to make such version but also started working on it, the biggest current problem is what to use as skin electrodes (we couldn't find any standard parts for that, still looking for some alternatives). Current uMyo size is 45x27 mm (for v3 which we are using, and v4 which we are working on will have the same outline), and with all the protection, connectors and radio on board it's unlikely that it could be made smaller - although in a later version it's possible to remove everything non-essential and get it down to ~30x18 mm (that's the size of the main electronics without connectors, button etc).
We are looking to get the produced version of the new prototype in early February (although it may need more time to get it working, we are using a different - presumably better - analog schematics there).
You can join our Discord channel https://discord.gg/dEmCPBzv9G - there are several other people interested in the project and we discuss it there
