Clarify Update October 31, 2018? #10

Could you clarify your "Update October 31, 2018" update?
It's unclear to me when we'll have access to this improvement or how to check whether I have access already.
Do I need to do anything extra to apply the improvement? For example switch to and from NVIDIA again?
How did you verify it works?
I'm running elementary OS Juno, built on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.

Yep, @timrichardson please update the info, when you have it.
I am not planning to switch from this current solution, because it works well.
If the future updates mess with it, then we will need some more information for the name/installation of the packages that Alberto Milone builds/maintains.

I've found a way to save some energy by putting the card in power saving mode, see:
