courses not showing up for future date to apply for

I am trying to publish future courses for students to apply for, however, when i set date to a future event and turn off draft, it doesn't show up on the courses page to see. Events for future dates work but I'm not sure why courses are not showing up. I am using FrontMatter and setting the date, even just 1 day in the future it does not show. How can I fix this issue? I've scoured the files and not sure what I am missing.
