Connect MPP solar using usb.

Hi, I have tried to connect my MPP solar to ESP using rs232 cable, rs232 to ttl converter. But I was not able to connect it. My inverter does not provide any power through the rs232 port. The rs232 cable that I received with the inverter has only two wires connected to RJ45. I have tried to connect to the inverter using rs232 to USB on my laptop but I was not able to connect to it. Most probably the rs232 port on the inverter is faulty. I was able to connect to the inverter using Android with the Watchtower application over Bluetooth. I was also able to connect to the inverter using the micro USB port present on the inverter using https://github.com/ned-kelly/docker-voltronic-homeassistant through my laptop. My question is can I connect my inverter to esp32 using the usb to ttl converter? Will it work?
