[Feature-request] Option to change title of video to download #115
Comments
Thanks! As for the size, it's usual that electron apps take around 200~mb, what I meant that others that I tested that had similar funcionality would take 350 or even 600mb (which was too crazy for that one), so for me at least this one was the one that allowed to pass extra commands to yt-dlp that would actually weight less. There were others that didn't use electron and weighted less, but either they were limited, or were too basic in functionality. |
First of all, the project is quite well made and amazing, after testing some other options yours seemed to be the one that took the least space and did all that any yt-dlp downloader should do, so credit where it's due!
There was although something that was missing. Right now when you download a video you can choose which metadata or information to use as title of the resulting video, like title of the original file, date, url, id, etc... The problem comes when you download some video or HLS stream video where the name of the video to download comes up as just "video" or something that isn't too informative.
Here some test HLS video:

When you add it, it shows it as:
Would it be possible to change the name of the video in there so that when you download it, it would change the title it receives from ".m3u8" to something else? That way you don't have to remember what was the title of that file after it has downloaded, which may take a while and you may have forgotten which file was which if you were downloading a few videos.
A posibility would be to add an input box where the default title is, and only show it as an actual input box when you click it, or maybe some icon that opens a popup to change it for the video.
