Authentication with Svelte in the recipes smells a little bit

If it is not please guide me to the right one.

I have checked the issues and the pull request but do not see it there.

On this page the example

result = authenticate();  // I do not see this variable being declared.

let data = text;  // And how this value will activate the reactivity when is declared in a different scope?
