I'd love to see support for multiple families for a given taxonomy.
I feel like I could probably work up a PR to support this, but given your deeper knowledge of WordPress's taxonomy/term system I wanted to see first if there's any technical reason this is a bad idea/reason you didn't implement it for multiple families in the first place.
I know it's a bit of a hack to support this kind of behaviour, so maybe multiple families would be a level of complication too far.
Curious to hear your thoughts :)
