Alfeo Raymond

I am a passionate open source contributor, educator, and community builder. I am working on various projects to help the community and introduce others to open source through education, practice, and community engagement.

I am the Lead Coordinator of the SmartGirlz in ICT Capacity Building Programme, a comprehensive training program that teaches students HCD principles and techniques, as well as the skills they need to build successful businesses. I have also trained students in human-centered design as part of the Codelikeagirl program at Tanzania Data Lab.

As an Open Source Maintainer for Laravel Lang, I am responsible for translating and reviewing submissions of Swahili keywords, and I have also developed code for Swahili translations.

As a GitHub Campus Expert, I collaborate with fellow experts to organize and host events that promote technology and open source communities among students. I have also successfully secured sponsorships and resources from local organizations to support these events.

I am passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion in the tech industry, making technology education more accessible and inclusive, empowering people to use technology to solve real-world problems, and building sustainable open source communities.
