Teaching how to code without a price tag.

The Aim Of Our Organization:

Codemugg is a non-profit organization building a platform for everyone to learn how to code. We would be teaching everything right from topics like what is programming to languages and frameworks like C++, Java, Node.js, Vue js, and much more.
To make it even more interactive and interesting, we are also developing a browser-based terminal/shell so that everyone could try out what they have just built! In fact, they won't be required to download and set up software and applications just to run something they are trying. This also unlocks the possibility to code on a mobile device ;)
And all of this never comes with a price tag on it. Everything (literally even the source code of the website) is either open-source, marked under the creative commons license, or just free to learn.

Any progress?

We started out on December, 1st 2020. And till now, we have designed and developed the website. The back-end is half complete. Other things like hosting, domain, SSL certificate, etc. are all done. At first, due to the lack of volunteers, we are going to host text-based courses, and when the platform becomes a bit mature, we will start with the video-based courses. Authentication is another part that is being developed by the back-end staff.

Why this idea?

The main motto of Codemugg is to teach how to code without a price tag. There are many videos on YouTube, many websites with paid courses, and huge organizations teaching how to code. But there's one thing common in all of those. They come with a price.
Talking about free videos on YouTube, many times the things are not taught the way they should be. Not all aspects are covered. Not all the things are taught in a proper step-by-step manner. Maybe it's good for beginners in programming, but what about intermediates or professionals seeking a solution? That's the place Codemugg shines and is proud of.
Talking about the fact that we don't even display annoying ads or any type of paid promotion on the website. It's just the learner, the course, and a beautiful terminal/shell to get things done!

Future Plans:

Currently, the courses are text-based and 'text' sometimes becomes a bit less interactive. Thus, our plan is to implement video courses along with some text-based tutorials when the platform becomes a bit more mature.

How do we make money?

We are a registered non-profit organization based in Kentucky, United States. All the revenue generated is put back to work. (like running the platform and paying the staff members) The revenue is not precise. Everything we do is to promote technology and spread awareness about our goals and ambitions. Thus, we rely on 'Donations' and nothing else. We do not run any type of advertisements (AdSense or any other). No paid promotions or anything else.

How do we collect donations?

We have partnered with Hack Club Bank under a fiscal sponsorship for collecting our donations.

Why is sponsorship so important?

When it comes to free, everyone needs a bit of support.

How would we use the funds?

We would use the funds to grow our organization to add even more things and make learning even more fun!
