Tau Meta Tau Physica runs on Debian Linux, and has only been tested on Ubuntu
It is not packaged and must be run from the 'standalone' directory using shell script 'tmtp.sh'.
Requires Inkscape, zenity, pySVG.
***** For Debian Linux / Ubuntu*****
1. Get packaged software dependencies:
Install Inkscape:
$sudo apt-get install inkscape
Configure Inkscape:
Inkscape creates seam allowances with its offset feature.
Inkscape up through v0.91 uses 90pixels per inch, so for 5/8" seam allowances the outset should be 56.25pixels.
Set menu File/Edit/Preferences/Behavior/Steps to 56.25 pixels.
Install Zenity:
$sudo apt-get install zenity
2. == Get unpackaged pySVG python library ==
Download the file pysvg-0.2.1.zip from this page:
http://code.google.com/p/pysvg/downloads/list
Unzip it and install it:
$ unzip pysvg-0.2.1.zip
$ cd pysvg-0.2.1/
$ sudo python setup.py install
3. == Get the tmtp source code ==
$ mkdir tmtp
$ git clone [email protected]:tusuzu/taumeta.git tmtp
4. == Test it ==
$ cd tmtp/standalone
$ ./mkpattern --verbose --client=./customer/SampleClient/SampleClient.json --pattern=./patterns/SamplePattern.py --styles=tmtp_styles.json ./customer/SampleClient/foo.svg
If this completes without error, everything is probably good.
To view:
Open foo.svg with Inkscape and create the seam allowances:
$ inkscape --file=foo.svg --verb=ZoomPage --select=A.cuttingline --select=B.cuttingline --select=C.cuttingline --select=D.cuttingline --select=E.cuttingline --select=F.cuttingline --verb=SelectionOffset --verb=FileSave
To print:
In inkscape, hide the reference layer with menu Layer/Layers, then select Layer-reference, and click on the 'eye' to hide the layer.
Resize document with menu File/Document Properties/Resize for your paper size.
Rearrange pattern pieces if needed. Save as PDF, and print with menu File/Print.
There is not an option to print to tiled PDF.
5. == Test the script ==
Change to the tmtp/standalone directory, mark tmtp.sh as executable, then run it
$chmod +x tmtp.sh
$ ./tmtp.sh
Select pattern file -- tmtp/standalone/patterns/SamplePattern.py
Select customer measurement file -- tmtp/standalone/customers/SampleCustomer/SampleCustomer.json
The pattern will be saved to the tmtp/standalone/customers/SampleCustomer directory
7. == Update launcher desktop file ==
$ sudo gedit tmtp.desktop
Update the icon and executable directory fields to match your own directories
8. == Add TMTP script to Ubuntu Launcher bar ==
$ sudo cp tmtp.desktop /usr/share/applications
$ sudo chmod +x /usr/share/applications/tmtp.desktop
$ sudo update-desktop-database
Click on Ubuntu logo at top of desktop Launcher bar
Type in tmtp.desktop to find file icon
Drag Scissors file icon to Launcher bar
