Built-in health checks allows us to monitor your project's health. You could then enable us to alert you and/or restart your project if it goes down.

This can also enable things like status badges #1191

Update:
The shuttle.dev platform does implement automatic restarts on a crashing deployment.
The ability to define custom health check behavior is a planned feature.
