I have flashed the firmware (with much trouble since STVP and/or my STLink suck). In the process I resetted Option byte to all 00's after I had trouble with Read Out Protection (ROP).
I assume this is required configuration for normal operation, since it defines STM8 muxes and peripherals, and since my LCD and buzzer are both off without it.
It isn't included in the .s19 blobs, please add it or document it somewhere.

I never needed to mess with Option byte. I cannot say what is needed without studying this setting.
