There are a few solutions that would meet this need:

  1. A checking-like function to check/interpret existing R profile options set for a given project (like: "here are the options we found, and what they do"). Would be nice in combo with a way to discover new options.
  2. A dedicated help page that folks can access from the console like ?blogdown.opts. Ideally, this should not be a webpage for people who may need help but may not have immediate internet access while working.
  3. An add-in to lead you through adding options.
