Problems with $DISPLAY env variable

Hi,

i checked out pi5 branch and figured out following issue:

When importing the lib in my python script, the $DISPLAY environment variable will be unset and my application will not recognize the attached touchscreen anymore that I have attached on my PI5.

Does somebody maybe have any idea what the issues could be here?
