Address.custom_fields_config description is not clear

The description for this field is

Configuration of the custom fields

which is basically just a rephrasing of the property name.

I'd like to know what this field is for and what format it is expected to have. From the name, it sounds like it would be used to provide some additional info about the custom fields - perhaps type information?

Additional information would be greatly appreciated.
