The diff function does not take into account the time zone. Reproduction recipe:

let range = moment.parseZoneRange('2010-03-31T20:00:00-04:00/2010-04-30T20:00:00-04:00')
range.end.diff(range.start, 'months') // 0
range.end.utc().diff(range.start.utc(), 'months') // 1
