If I may ask, is Piper still using the espeak text to diphones converter that is GPL? I saw discussion of replacing it but wasn't sure if that had moved forward.

If it hasn't, would it be possible to cut that part out and feed in diphones directly? I have some ideas for fine tuning some small llms to do the conversation.

If so, what diphone format should I target? I've heard espeak's is non-standard. Would IPA be more appropriate?
