Why "No module named 'torch' " when running exe packaged by pyinstalller

This error does not occur when running the script,but packaged by pyinstaller. i had make a hook for pyinstaller and others ways, but error still occur,

This usually happens if you have mixed up python (virtual) environments; i.e., you are running PyInstaller that is installed in a different (virtual) environment than the one you are using for your project (and which, in this case, has torch installed).

Yeah,train.py is the external process of main application. Main thread maybe use the interpreter for the virtual environment ,and external process use the computer's default interpreter

The main application uses embedded interpreter with collected packages, but if external process uses the computer's default interpreter, then those packages are naturally not available there (unless installed).

But if you need external interpreter, then there is no point in using PyInstaller in the first place, since your application is not portable (won't work if target machine has no python interpreter, or does not have torch and other dependencies installed).

No, because embedded/isolated interpreter is used, which is inaccessible "from outside". You could route them through the main executable, but you will need to adjust the entry-point script (main.py) to identify subprocess (e.g., via command-line arguments), and then divert the program flow accordingly. Then you would spawn your subprocesses using sys.executable with afore-mentioned command-line arguments.

We actually do this for multiprocessing, but whether you can do it in your case probably depends on how torch distributed framework works. (Or maybe rather, are you spawning that train.py script process yourself, or is torch.distributed doing it for you).

I specified the interpreter for the virtual environment when I ran the external program, then pyinstaller found the module successfully. Thanks a lot, I will try to see if the exported file would work without an interpreter.
