Pygame window not coming up on Windows

Environment:

• Windows 11
• Using VScode on wsl
• python3.10.12
• SDL 2.28.2
• PyGame 2.5.2

Current behavior:

When I try to load up any pygame display, the program starts running but the pygame game window doesn't pop up. Even if I wait for an hour the terminal says that the program is running but no pygame window in sight. I thought that it could be a problem with my game, but even on the classic window openening program it doesn't seem to work.
I have friend who has the same setup as mine, but it works on his laptop. I don't understand anything. Pls help.
