Applying a hammer-on to a group of selected notes doesn't behave as expected

When a sequence of notes is selected, adding a hammer-on should create hammer-ons between the selected notes, rather than a hammer-on starting from each of the selected notes (which ends up extending past the selection). The same is probably true for other symbols that act "between" notes, like slides, ties, etc
This behaves correctly for symbols like vibrato where the expectation is to add vibrato to each of the selected notes.
