student help- which hash key to purchase and where to put the key? #225
Comments
Hashing is down at the moment bud |
Hey Lisa, this project here is currently not working due to some recent updates by Niantic. This said, you should know that this here is unofficial and Niantic does not encourage this. So if you use this here with your real accounts, they may get banned! Consider this also for your class project, as using this library / their APIs is against Niantics/PoGOs Terms of Service; not sure if you want to use such thing for a class project!? To actually make requests to the API using this library, you need a 3rd party service that will generate a hash (basically "sign") for the requests you send to Niantics servers. Right now, there is only Bossland providing such hashing service, but it's not working because of the most recent changes. So wait until this repo gets some commits that look like adjustments to the hash*.py files, try again to purchase a key and try again to use it. Greetings, Andy! |
Thanks for heads up! I was using alts to test so my main was safe. Hmm, that's good to know. Just wondering, how long has the hashing service been down? Thanks again |
Think its been some where around 35ish days |
Any updates on this hashing issue? |
Nothing to report. Any updates will be posted in the Discord. https://discord.pogodev.org |
I wanted to try out some basic gameplay features using this api for my class project. I was following the wiki and tried to run pokecli.py , I am able to login to my account successfully but I get a NoHashKeyException error. I did some digging and found different bossland products but am unsure of which one to purchase. And once I do purchase a hash key, where would I input the key? I'm sorry if this is obvious or has been answered before, I looked through the wiki and the issues section but couldn't find any info. Thank you so much for your time!
