issue: wonky behaviour on X11 #4
Comments
Hi, thanks for the report. Do you have any other non-default effects enabled or any other special configuration that could contribute to this problem? |
by the moment i wrote this issue i was using shapecorners but I disabled it, the problem still persists though. changed to wayland for now as this gets solved edit: do you need any logs or details? if so, guide me on how to get them and i'll provide them as requested |
update: it also gets wonky on wayland with chromium for some reason |
Do you have the same problem with any other effects? |
I dunno about any other effect that exposes window geometry and affects multiple windows like this, I can't test rn, I sold my laptop and my new one came out faulty so I'm waiting for RMA |
Why has this been inactive for so long? I have quite a bit of issues on X11 as well. There are glitchy remains of the window the animation has been played on, on my secondary monitor when I maximize or un-maximize a Window. EDIT: The un-maximizing animation assumes my two monitors are one and stats downscaling the window from both screens at once, which temporarily leaves glitchy remains. Also, near the end of the maximizing and un-maximizing animation, the blurring temporarily breaks until the animation is finished. This doesn't seem to be the case with the other geometry changes. |
Hi over there, sorry for necrobumping this thread, I realized thid issue seems like a X11 and XWayland issue, native Wayland apps don't get glitchy :) but yeah lmao we need a solution :* I installed Arch Linux on my new laptop to help test out kernel modules for my firmware but I'm also willing to test this out! |
Interesting, thanks for sharing! Unfortunately, I still can't reproduce the issue, though. :/ |
@AlphaCraft9658 This sounds like a separate issue, please open a new issue. |
I thought it was bcuz of AMD drivers but I switched to an Intel + Nvidia laptop and I still get those wonky issues |

i'm not clear about the x11 support of this script as it isn't explicitly stated anywhere i've seen but I've noticed weird artifacting while opening/moving/closing more than 2/3 windows as shown in the video. thought it was polonium's fault but i see the same behaviour over in karousel, and this bug does not happen in wayland as well (though I can't use wayland due to latency reasons just yet :/)
tested on arch linux and opensuse tumbleweed. same behaviour
i apologize for the camera recording though, having problems over here in opensuse with ffmpeg 😅
