How to reduce noise while taking snapshots ?

We are using Percy visual snapshot in our react apps, on staging and prod. The problem is whenever I have a change that does not really affect UI, Percy takes a lot of screenshots from all pages which are really irrelevant.

My guess is that this is happening due to the pixel-by-pixel checking and the load process. But is there a way to reduce this sensitivity and really capture screenshots when it is necessary?

Percy has no way of knowing anything has changed until capturing the screenshots from a test and then making a comparison to the baseline. The best thing to do here would be to control when Percy is enabled (PERCY_ENABLE=0 will disable Percy). How that's done is sort of up to how you're running Percy in CI. We have some customers who check for a string in the commit (like [percy]) to enable Percy.

This can be done, but I'm not sure this is the actual ask now :)
