Merging files not possible

Hi,
I had setup a new Paperless instance and it worked prity well.
Only thing what is not working now is the merge function.
I had scanned a few documents as tiff and Paperless generated the PDF documents. These documents are looking fine but I'm not able so merge them.
If I try I got this in my logs:

pikepdf._core.PdfError: /usr/src/paperless/media/documents/originals/0000014.tif: unable to find trailer dictionary while recovering damaged file

So paperless is running on a RPI 4 (Docker) and the documents folder is on a mounted network share.
Here are the volumne part from my docker-compose.yml
volumes:
- data:/usr/src/paperless/data
- /mnt/scans:/usr/src/paperless/media
- ./export:/usr/src/paperless/export
- /mnt/tempScans/files:/usr/src/paperless/consume

When I check the location all files are there:
me@paperless:~ $ ls /mnt/scans/documents/originals/
0000007.tif 0000009.tif 0000010.tif 0000011.tif 0000013.tif 0000014.tif

Can someone please help me to find a point where I can start fixing this?

Hi shamoon,
thx for the quick response. Sure, only pdf files can merged.
So im also wandering why paperless is tring to access the tiff files. But, isn't this the correct way to merge the pdf files?

Or are these not pdf files?

Merging operates on the original document, which would be a tiff

Ah, ok, thx. Is there no way to merg the generated PDF Docs ?
